Det er plassert mellom\u00a0Belledonne, Grandes Rousses og Arvan-Villards fjellomr\u00e5dene, vest for\u00a0Col de la Croix de Fer. Veien over \u00a0Col du Glandon ble \u00e5pnet i 1898, og ble koblet til Col de la Croix de Fer i 1912. Det er str\u00f8ken asfalt over disse fjellpassene n\u00e5.<\/p>\n<p>Fjellpasset er normalt stengt fra begynnelsen av november til midten av mai.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4>Disse to fjellpassene ligger veldig n\u00e6r hverandre og m\u00e5 tas med sammen. Col du Glandon er brukt 13 ganger i Tour de France. Col du Glandon<\/h2>\n<p>Dette er s\u00f8rsiden av fjellpasset nede fra dalen med Bourg d`Oisans (<a href=\"http:\/\/bhxblogg.no\/?page_id=1743\" target=\"_blank\">Alpe d Huez<\/a>). Turen opp herfra er en vakker naturopplevelse. Det er denne veien opp som brukes i monsterrittet <a href=\"http:\/\/bhxblogg.no\/?p=2501\" target=\"_blank\">La Marmotte<\/a> i juli. \u00a0Det er en fin klatring opp fra denne siden. Det er mange bratte partier n\u00e5r det stiger, men du f\u00e5r noen gode pauser underveis hvor det er flatt og til og med noen lange nedoverbakker. Derfor blir snittprosenten ikke s\u00e6rlig h\u00f8y, men hvis du ser p\u00e5 profilen er det mye bratt her ogs\u00e5. Dessuten blir du lurt hvis du ser p\u00e5 h\u00f8ydemeter forskjell mellom start og sluttpunkt. Siden det er endel nedoverbakker, vil antall h\u00f8ydemeter bli mye mer enn det h\u00f8ydeforskjellen indikerer. Denne ligger ved foten av Col du Madeleine p\u00e5 den andre siden, og i Tour de France har derfor denne stigningen ofte v\u00e6rt brukt i kombinasjon med Madeleine. La Chambre ligger lavere enn Allemond p\u00e5 den andre siden, s\u00e5 du skal opp nesten 1500 meter og det er mye.
